Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka is an American British musician and sitarist. She was the youngest and first woman to win an award from the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka is the emerging star of Indian sitar. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil and is also his daughter. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. Her early years included a period of time in London and New Delhi. She gave her debut performance on stage in New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. In Encinitas CA in 1999 she received a high-school degree. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman however she's got an impressive career in recording and performing. She frequently joins her father in performances this she's been doing for a number of years. Her debut single album Anourag in the year 1998. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy nominated album Live At Carnegie Hall. Stage performance is a large part of her career. She's played in many major venues all over the globe. Her career doesn't just comprise the world of music. In 2002, she wrote an autobiography titled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is a picture-based biography, which pays special respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. In addition, she has appeared in movies in 2003. She was in the movie Dance Like a Man where she is an aspiring Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her career and will surely be more things to come from this amazing woman. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent much of her youth living between London and Delhi later relocating to California in the state where she attended high school. Anoushka started her music studies at the age of nine. Four years later she performed her sitar debut in Delhi at her father's 75th birthday celebration. Anoushka was a part of her father during his world tour, gained a remarkable quantity of knowledge. As a teenager, she performed in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and recorded alongside George Harrison. She was the first woman to win the House of Commons Shield, presented by British Parliament as recognition of her musical talent and artistic ability in music and the Asian Arts.
